The Gmina Baborów [ baˈbɔruf ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Głubczycki of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the small town of the same name ( German Bauerwitz ; Czech Bavorov ) with almost 3000 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in Silesia , about 55 kilometers south of Opole (Opole) and about 25 kilometers northwest of Ostrava (Ostrau) . From its southern tip it is two kilometers to the Czech Republic . The Zinna is one of the waters .
history
In 1950 the region became part of the Opole Voivodeship. This repeatedly changed its layout. In 1975 bis the powiate were dissolved and the municipality came to the Opole Voivodeship until 1998 (1975) . The powiat Głubczycki was re-established in 1999.

Personalities
