Otto Werner (politician, 1910)

Otto Werner (born October 5, 1910 in Uhlstädt-Oberkrossen , Rudolstadt district , † after 1967) was a German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was chairman of the Gera district board of the DBD and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR.

Life

Werner, son of a farmer, attended the agricultural school in Rudolstadt from 1927 to 1929 and was an assistant at the Camburg estate in 1930/1931 and then employed in his father's business. On May 1, 1937, he joined the NSDAP .

After the Second World War he continued to work in agriculture and in 1948 became a member of the Democratic Peasant Party of Germany (DBD), the Association for Mutual Peasant Aid (VdgB) and the Society for German-Soviet Friendship . From 1946 to 1950 he was a member of the Uhlstädt municipal council and from 1950 to 1954 a member of the Rudolstadt district council . He also acted as the chairman of the local organization of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid and the Farmers' Trade Cooperative in Uhlstädt, as well as the chairman of the VdgB district board in Rudolstadt. In 1957 he was one of the co-founders of LPG Uhlstädt and became its chairman.

Werner was from 1954 to 1968 chairman of the district executive committee Gera of the DBD and from 1955 to 1967 a member of its party executive committee.

From 1954 to 1967 Werner was also a member of the People's Chamber.
