Otto von Richter (General)
Otto Demetrius Karl Peter von Richter ( Russian : Оттон Борисович Рихтер; * February 13, 1830 in Dresden ; † March 2, 1908 in Saint Petersburg ) was a German-Baltic nobleman and general of the infantry in the Imperial Russian Army .
Life
Otto von Richter began his military career in the imperial Russian page corps in Saint Petersburg as a teenager . 1847 at the age of 17, he became the Chamber of pages called and changed in 1848 as a cornet for Garde - regiment on horseback and was in the Caucasus and in the Crimean War used. 1856 he was given the adjutant place at Prince Aleksandr Baryatinsky (1815 - 1879) and in 1857 promoted him to colonel . In 1859 he was promoted to wing adjutant and in 1864 to major general à la suite . From 1866 to 1868 he was director of the imperial headquarters and then went to Florence as a military attaché until 1871 . The command of the 13th Infantry - Division had he held 1871-1879, then he, now Lieutenant General , the adjutant general appointed. From 1879 to 1881 this was followed by a further assignment as a commander , and then again to serve as a commander in the imperial headquarters until 1898 . From 1884 to 1895 he was head of the petition office and in 1886 was promoted to general of the infantry, since 1887 he was a member of the Reichsrat . From 1898 he stood by the Tsar as an advisor, still in the rank of general. From 1895 to 1908 he was President of the Central Committee of the Assistance Fund for the Evangelical Lutheran Congregations in Russia. He was a trustworthy advisor and mediator for the Livonian knighthood .

Origin and family
Otto von Richter came from the German-Baltic noble family von Richter . His father was Burkhard von Richter (1815–1844), who was married to Elisabeth, born Hermann. His possessions included Siggund, Schillingshof and Adamshof. Otto married his cousin Elisabeth von Richter (1861-1916) in 1867 , who in 1908 was raised to the rank of baroness in recognition of the services of her husband. Whose sons were:

- Otto Theodor (* 1871 in Graz ; † 1920 in Irkutsk ), since 1908 Russian baron, rear admiral in the Imperial Russian Navy .
