Otto Kaspar Gottlieb Konrad Freiherr von Zedlitz and Neukirch (born October 10, 1787 in Tiefhartmannsdorf ; † March 16, 1865 in Nieder-Kauffung ) was a Prussian major general and landscape director of the principalities of Schweidnitz and Jauer .

Life

origin

Otto was a son of Friedrich von Zedlitz and Neukirch (1747-1820) and his wife Barbara, nee Freiin von Kottwitz (1752-1820) from the house of Kauffungen.

Military career

During the Wars of Liberation, Zedlitz joined the 7th Silesian Landwehr Cavalry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a second lieutenant on March 20, 1813 . From the beginning of May he worked as an adjutant with the 3rd Silesian Landwehr Cavalry Regiment, advanced to first lieutenant in August 1813 and at the end of November 1813 became adjutant to Major General Schuler von Senden . From August 8 to November 22, 1815, he was promoted to Rittmeister and served as adjutant of the 20th Brigade of the 5th Army Corps. Then came Zedlitz as an aide to Landwehr inspection Reichenbach, was born on March 22, 1818 Major and on 21 October 1818 the permission to wear the army uniform of the army adopted .

He remained connected to the army and on March 22, 1819 was appointed leader of the 2nd contingent of the 2nd battalion in the Reichenbacher Landwehr Regiment No. 18b. On March 19, 1820 he was then leader of the 2nd contingent of the III. Battalions in the 7th Landwehr Regiment. In 1830/31 he was sent to the Polish border. On April 5, 1842 he was given the character as a lieutenant colonel and on 12 June 1843, he became the leader of the First Battalion of the 7th appointed Landwehr Regiment. Under position à la suite of the regiment, Zedlitz received the character of a colonel on June 6, 1854 . He received his departure on May 6, 1859 with the character of major general.

Zedlitz was the master of Tiefhartmannsdorf and Nieder-Kauffung, where he died on March 16, 1865.

He married Gabriele Countess von Magnis (1794-1870) in Eckersdorf on October 15, 1812 . The couple had several children:
