Otto zu Solms-Rödelheim

Otto Graf zu Solms-Rödelheim and Assenheim (born June 5, 1829 in Assenheim , † August 31, 1904 in Altenhagen ) was a Prussian politician and landowner in Pomerania .

Life

Otto Graf zu Solms-Rödelheim came from the Hessian noble family Solms . He was the son of Carl Graf zu Solms-Rödelheim (1790–1844) and Luise Amalie Countess of Erbach-Schönberg (1795–1875). His older brother Maximilian zu Solms-Rödelheim was a born senior member of the First Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the Prussian Manor . He ended his military career with the rank of captain. He later took over the Altenhagen manor in the Franzburg district . From 1867 he was a legal knight of the Order of St. John . In 1878 he became a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Pomerania . From 1879 to 1904 he was a member of the Conservatives in the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Stralsund District 1 ( Rügen , Franzburg , Stralsund ).

On December 7, 1865 he married in Schlemmin Emma von Thun (born June 10, 1834 in Berlin; † May 18, 1900 in Altenhagen), daughter of Wilhelm Ulrich von Thun and widow of Johannes Graf zu Stolberg-Wernigerode. With her he had a son Kuno (1872–1945) and a daughter Bertha (1869–1939), who married Count Leonhard zu Stolberg-Wernigerode (1853–1914) in 1892.
