Otzma Yehudit ( Hebrew : עוצמה יהודית, German : Jewish strength; formerly Otzma Yehudit , German: Strength of Israel) is a religious and nationalist Israeli party , which on 13 November 2012 by Aryeh Eldad and Michael Ben-Ari was founded after leaving the National Union to form a new party for the 19th Knesset elections . After two parties left the National Union, Arieh Eldad's Hatikva party and Michael Ben-Aris Chasit Jehudit Le'umit (Hebrew: חזית יהודית לאומית, German: Jewish National Front) united to form a common party. It is classified as right-wing extremist and racist and is ideologically close to Kahanism .

The party failed to enter the Knesset in the 2013 and 2015 parliamentary elections . In the 2015 election, Otzma Jehudit entered into an electoral alliance with Yachad of Eli Jischai .

Otzma Jehudit ran in the Knesset election in April 2019 on a joint list with HaBajit haJehudi and the Tkuma , under the name Union of right-wing parties . Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in particular advocated the merger of the three parties. In March 2019 which allowed Supreme Court although the candidacy of Itamar Ben Gvir , but forbade the candidacy of Michael Ben-Ari. Otzma Jehudit left the covenant in June 2019. The reasons given were a lack of appreciation and failure to comply with a rotation agreement stating that representatives of the other two parties should resign from the Knesset if they were given ministerial posts so that Otzma politician Itamar Ben-Gvir can move into the Knesset as a member of parliament.

In the Knesset election in September 2019 , the party ran alone and won 1.88% of the vote. Once again, she failed to enter the Knesset.

Political positions

Otzma Jehudit demands, among other things, the strengthening of the Jewish character of the State of Israel, the Jewish settlement of all parts of the Land of Israel and an intensification of Jewish education in state schools. The party is also working to restore Jewish sovereignty to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. It advocates a "total war" - "without negotiations, concessions or compromises" - against the "enemies of Israel" and wants to "resettle" those Arabs who are "hostile and disloyal" to the state of Israel to Arab countries. The State of Israel must orient itself towards “Jewish morality” and “Jewish values” and represent Jewish interests. Accordingly, Otzma Jehudit demands the strengthening and promotion of the “traditional family” and rejects abortion and same-sex marriages. In economic terms, the party advocates “Jewish capitalism ” while at the same time supporting poor, old, sick, disabled and weak sections of the population.
