Mining

Mining was carried out in the valley in the 19th century. Iron ore was mined at Ferrières from 1512 to 1866 . The Baburet mine then stood still until 1923. On February 28, 1962, it was finally closed. The tracks of the railway that brought the material from the valley to Nay were dismantled. You can still see the tunnels and bridges, which are now used as roads or footpaths.
