Oxycarboxin is a chemical compound from the family of oxathiines and carboxamides and a fungicide introduced by Uniroyal (now Chemtura ) in 1966 .

Extraction and presentation

Oxycarboxin can be prepared from carboxin by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide .

use

Oxycarboxin is used as a systemic fungicide with a curative effect against Rhizoctonia in cotton cultivation and rust fungi . It works by inhibiting succinate dehydrogenase .

Admission

Oxycarboxin was approved in Germany from 1971 to 1986, but in Austria until 2007. The active ingredient is not a permitted active ingredient in plant protection products in the European Union. In Switzerland, too, no pesticides containing this active ingredient are permitted.
