The Pühlferstalbach is a creek not quite a kilometer long in the area of the Heckfeld district of Lauda-Königshofen in the Main-Tauber district in the north of Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Muckbach from the left and west-southwest after leaving Heckfeld in the direction of Dittwar .

geography

course

The Pühlferstalbach begins its course about a kilometer west of the center of the village of Heckfeld a little before the ridge forest Schreckenbusch at the exit of a grass path from a developed field path that bends there. He walks constantly in the deepest of his natural hollow next to this farm road and almost to the end between fields. After 0.9 km, it flows into the Muckbach from the left and west-southwest at a water house, which, after having emerged from a gouge below the outskirts of Heckfeld, is less than 200 meters long here in the open.

The mean bottom gradient of the trench, which opens about 48 meters below its beginning, is therefore about 53 ‰. It does not have an open inflow.

Catchment area

The Pühlferstalbach drains an area of approx. 0.5 km², which naturally belongs to the Umpfer-Wachbach-Riedel sub -area of the Tauberland . At its western edge on the hilltop there is a cover layer of Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt Formation ), but for the most part there is Upper Muschelkalk . On the northwest side the similarly large valley ditch , which flows in the same direction a little below the Muckbach, competes , in the west and southwest the more important Schüpfbach , partly via a left tributary. Beyond the remaining part of the total watershed, the subsequent area to the Muckbach itself drains. At the highest point of the catchment area on the Kuppe Heide near the water tower west of Heckfeld, the terrain reaches over 385  m above sea level. NHN .

The area lies entirely within the Heckfelder district, is unpopulated and almost completely open, except for a gusset of the horror bush in the west. On the high western and southern locations there are some orchards, otherwise arable farming dominates on large plots.

Protected areas

For the last few meters, the Lauda-Königshofen nature reserve borders the run on the left. The catchment area lies entirely in the Lauda-Königshofen water protection area.
