LEDA / PGC 214040 ( NGC 4807A ) is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E5 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 314 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 4807 , it forms the galaxy pair Holm 488 and is a member of the Coma galaxy cluster Abell 1656 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4797 , NGC 4807 , NGC 4816 , IC 3900 .
The object was discovered on April 23, 1865 by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
