Pablo Alborán
Pablo Alborán (born May 31, 1989 in Málaga ; full name Pablo Moreno de Alborán Ferrándiz ) is a Spanish cantor and the most successful musician of the 2010s in his country. In addition, he is also a successful international representative of Latin Pop .
biography
His father is the architect Salvador Moreno de Alborán Peralta, his mother Helena Ferrándiz Martínez. Pablo Alborán learned to play the guitar at an early age and began writing his first songs at the age of twelve. At the age of 20 he was under contract with EMI and at the end of 2010 he released his debut single Solamente tú . At first, the song only entered the charts hesitantly, but with the support of the Internet, its popularity rose quickly. When his debut album named after him was released in early February 2011, it immediately rose to number one on the charts. The album stayed on top for six weeks and returned to the top twice during the year. At 15 number one weeks, it was the most successful album of the 2000s to date. It was also the best-selling album of the year, going six times platinum . In autumn 2011, the Spaniard was nominated three times for a Latin Grammy , including Newcomer of the Year, and also appeared at the awards ceremony. In the same year he won the newcomer award at the Premios 40 Principales of the radio station of the same name.
The live version of the debut album was released under the title En Acústico in November 2011 and exceeded the debut album with 20 weeks at number one and 8 times platinum. The single Solamente tú also rose to number one, it was the third most successful song of the year and was represented in the Spanish top 50 single charts for over two years. With Perdóname in the live version with the singer Carminho , a second number one single followed. The live album also reached number one in Portugal, and Alborán was also successful in South America and the Latin pop charts in the USA.
The extraordinary career start was surpassed by the second album. Tanto was released just one year after En Acústico in early November 2012 and sold over 200,000 times in just two months. Two years in a row, the album was number one in the annual charts, which no artist in Spain had achieved before. In 2012 he even took number one, two and five there with his three albums. At 27 weeks at the top of the chart, his third album was the most successful in 25 years. It has been awarded platinum 10 times. The album produced two more number one singles and a guest contribution to Vuelvo a verte by the singer Malú raised the number of top positions in the single charts to five. He was also able to build on his first success internationally.
It was two years before Pablo Alborán's next album. Terral was released on November 10, 2014 and returned to number one on the album charts. Two singles had already reached the top of the chart beforehand.
Pablo Alborán also benefits from developments on the Internet. He published an official video on YouTube for his first single Solamente tú in September 2010 . It is his most successful Internet video with over 100 million views. Five more videos had between 15 and 25 million hits by 2015.
In June 2020, Alborán confessed to his homosexuality via an Instagram video .
