Palayan City ( Tagalog : Lungsod ng Palayan) is a Filipino municipality (Component City) in the province of Nueva Ecija , in the administrative region III, Central Luzon. It has 41,041 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 19 barangays . It is classified as a fifth income class community in the Philippines and as partially urbanized .
Palayan City is in the center and is the capital of the province. It borders the western foothills of the Sierra Madre in the east of the central Luzon plain. It is located 129 km north of Manila and is accessible via the Marhalika Highway . Their neighboring communities are Bongabon and General Mamerto Natividad in the north, Laur in the south and east, and Cabanatuan City in the west.
