Palazzo Barbaran da Porto
The Palazzo Barbaran da Porto is a city palace in Vicenza , at contrà Porti No. 11. It should not be confused with the Palazzo Iseppo Porto in the immediate vicinity on the same street No. 21, which is often abbreviated as Palazzo Porto . As part of the Palladio Villas in Veneto , it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994 .
Andrea Palladio designed the palazzo in 1569 for the Vicentine nobleman Montano Barbarano ; the building was erected between 1570 and 1575 .
The Palazzo has housed the Museo Palladio and the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio (CISA) since October 2012 .
The two-part facade consists of stacked half-columns of the Ionic and Corinthian order. On the mezzanine floor there are only six window axes reliefs , as the palace was extended by two window axes to the left in the sixteenth century.
