Paul Ikier

Paul Richard Max Ikier (born March 28, 1867 in Mengrowitz; Posen; † May 3, 1926 in Niebusch, Freystadt district in Lower Silesia ) was a Prussian lawyer , district administrator and manor owner .

Life

Paul Ikier was born as the son of the mill owner Rudolf Ikier on March 28, 1867 in Mengrowitz in the Prussian province of Posen . He studied law at the Université de Lausanne and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . During his studies in Lausanne, he was one of the founding members of the Société d'Étudiants Germania Lausanne in the summer semester of 1887 . After completing his first law degree in 1890 he became with his inaugural dissertation entitled "The legal status of the retail book dealer" at the Ludwig University of Giessen to Dr. iur doctorate. He then worked as an apprentice court trainee from 1891 and as a government trainee from 1892. On September 14, 1989, he married Ria Hilgenberg in Essen. With her he had two sons, Paul Ikier jun. and Horst Ikier.

In 1903 he was appointed district administrator for the district of Hoya in the Prussian province of Hanover . He held this office for 15 years until 1917. In the meantime, he was drafted into military service in 1914 and from 1914 as captain of the reserve of the 1st Guard Field Artillery Regiment and from 1915 as a major of the reserve and department commander in the Reserve Field Artillery Regiment No. 46. From 1917 to 1919 he was district administrator of the Sagan district in Lower Silesia .

After retiring from civil service in 1919, he worked his land near Freystadt in Lower Silesia as a farmer and owner of the Niebusch manor .
