Johann Forster (District Administrator)

Johann Forster (born on December 16, 1833 in Halsenbach ; died on April 29, 1900 in Berlin ) was a Prussian administrative officer, district administrator , chief of police and, most recently, a senior administrative judge.

Life

The Catholic Johann Forster, married since 1875, was the son of a landowner from Halsenbach near Emmelshausen . After studying law in Bonn and Breslau , Forster continued his training as an auscultator in Koblenz after taking his first legal examination in 1857 , where he found employment with the Royal Prussian government there. As a result of further legal examinations in Koblenz in 1861 , he was appointed government trainee and finally in 1865 government assessor , Forster was repeatedly commissioned to act as a substitute for managerial positions in the Rhine Province .

Forster was responsible for the administration of the district there from July 1866 to April 10, 1867 after the reigning District Administrator of the Wetzlar district , Gustav von Diest , before taking over his office on September 14, 1867 after the resignation of Cologne Police President Wilhelm Arnold Geiger continued to act as a substitute until January 2, 1868 and finally from February 11 to May 4, 1868 with the renewed takeover of the district administration of the Essen district .

From 1872 to 1877 Forster worked in the provincial administration of the Rhine Province. In his last service position he was from 1891 senior administrative judge at the Prussian higher administrative court . He died on duty.
