Robert von der Heydt

Robert Freiherr von der Heydt (born June 8, 1837 in Berlin ; † December 12, 1877 there ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Robert von der Heydt studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . In 1856 he became a member of the Corps Palatia Bonn . After completing his studies and completing his legal clerkship, he entered the Prussian civil service. In the Rhine Province he was from 1866 to 1868 royal Prussian district administrator in the Eupen district and at the same time royal Prussian commissioner for Neutral Moresnet . He then worked as a district administrator in the Essen district until 1870 . After the outbreak of the Franco-Prussian War , he was appointed civil commissioner for Alsace based in Strasbourg in 1870 . After the founding of the German Empire , he switched to the service of the German Empire and from 1871 to 1875 was the first district president in Colmar , Upper Alsace district in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine . He then lived in Berlin .

Von der Heydt was a son of the Prussian Minister of Commerce and Finance August von der Heydt and Julie Blank (1804–1865) and was married to Mathilde Anna Elisabeth Amalie von Balan (1847–1907).
