August von Reiman (District Administrator)

Eugen Carl Thomas August von Reiman (born November 28, 1805 in Paderborn ; † June 8, 1866 in Düsseldorf ; Prussian nobility from November 23, 1786) was a Prussian administrative officer and from 1837 to 1849 district administrator of the Eupen district .

Life

Origin and education

August von Reiman was the son of the long-time district president of Aachen of the same name, August von Reiman from his second marriage to Anna Albertine, née. by Tschirschky. After attending grammar school in Wetzlar , von Reiman studied law and camera science , including at the University of Bonn (matriculation October 19, 1824 to the summer semester 1826). With his graduation he joined the Prussian judicial service on June 13, 1828 as an auscultator at the Paderborn Higher Regional Court . He was also on 21 May 1830 passing of the first legal state examination appointed court clerk. While his father was still in office, August von Reiman moved to the Aachen government as a government trainee on October 2, 1830 . There he was appointed government assessor on May 16, 1835 .

Career

After the death of the previous district administrator of the Eupen district, Bernhard von Scheibler (1785–1837), August von Reiman took over the administration of the Eupen district on June 1, 1837 on the basis of a very high cabinet order (AKO). Following his choice of presentation on January 15, 1838, he was finally appointed as district administrator with AKO on April 30, 1838. After 12 years of activity in Eupen, he moved to the Aachen government on October 2, 1849 as a councilor while simultaneously being awarded the Red Eagle Order, 4th class . On leave because of an illness that had persisted since May 1853, he retired in April 1854.

Von Reimann, a member of the Evangelical Reformed Church, married Auguste Sternickel on May 20, 1840 in Eupen (* August 2, 1817 in Eupen; † September 25, 1886 in Düsseldorf). She was the daughter of the cloth manufacturer Christian Bernhard Sternickel and Elisabeth, geb. Gülcher. The later district administrators of the Eupen district, Edwin Gülcher and Alfred Sternickel, were related by marriage to Auguste von Reimann, née Sternickel, or siblings of the same.
