Wilhelm Sartorius

Wilhelm Sartorius (born December 10, 1863 in Wiesbaden ; died October 24, 1942 there ) was a Prussian administrative officer and district administrator .

Life

The Protestant Wilhelm Sartorius was the son of Otto Sartorius, who last worked as state director in the province of Hessen-Nassau (died on September 29, 1911 in Wiesbaden) and his wife Louise Henriette Auguste Caroline Sartorius, née Götz. He married Frida van der Zypen (born 1872; died 1950) on October 7, 1895 in Mülheim am Rhein, the daughter of the industrialist and commercial councilor Eugen van der Zypen and his wife Martha van der Zypen, née Charlier.

After attending high school Sartorius took in 1882 a study of the legal and cameralistics at the universities of Heidelberg , Berlin and Leipzig on with his degree, he in 1885 after passing the first state examination on 13 June 1885 to the court clerk has been appointed (swearing June 17, 1885). Sartorius continued his legal training from June 17, 1885 to September 30, 1886 at the Höchst District Court and the Wiesbaden Regional Court , before moving to the Prussian administrative service on June 19, 1888, when he was appointed government trainee . With the passing of the second state examination on October 28th, 1891 appointed as a government assessor (with seniority of September 26th), Sartorius received his transfer to the Prussian government in Stade by decree of October 23rd, 1891 . Another station was the government in Cologne from April 5, 1893 , before he took over the administration of the Wetzlar district on April 1, 1900, succeeding Adolph Goedecke , who was moving to the Prussian Ministry of Finance . The definitive appointment with effect from March 1, 1901 followed on February 18, 1901. It was Sartorius' last post. He stayed until his retirement due to reaching the age limit on April 1, 1929, District Administrator in Wetzlar .
