Paul Rosenberg (music manager)

Paul Rosenberg (born August 1, 1971 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American music manager and lawyer from Detroit. He was best known for his collaboration with hip-hop artist Eminem .

Career

Rosenberg first came into contact with Eminem in 1996 after listening to his first solo album, Infinite . He contacted the rapper and convinced him to become his manager. In 1999, Rosenberg and Eminem founded the hip-hop label Shady Records , which belongs to Interscope Records and with which artists such as 50 Cent , D12 , Obie Trice , Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse are or were under contract. Together with Eminem, he also founded the radio station Shade 45.

In addition to his work as a manager, Rosenberg can be heard on several of Eminem's albums on ironic skits entitled Paul . In it he takes on the role of the admonisher who persuades Eminem to soften his lyrics or to discard the whole album.

Rosenberg is also the manager and lawyer of the talent company Goliath Artists, which includes artists such as Xzibit , Cypress Hill , blink-182 , Three 6 Mafia , Action Bronson and The Alchemist .

In August 2017 it was announced that Rosenberg will act as the new CEO of Def Jam Recordings from 2018 .
