Paul Digiter
Paul Digiter (born March 9, 1879 in Bistritz , † February 14, 1929 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer , journalist and diplomat .
Life
Paul Zahler came from Moravia . He studied both Jus and philosophy at the University of Vienna and at the Sorbonne in Paris . He then joined the young Vienna literary group . There he mainly interacted with Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Arthur Schnitzler . Digiter wrote novels , short stories, dramas and poetry in German and finally in French . He also worked as a translator of works by Gustave Flaubert and Rachilde .
Zifferer worked as a journalist for the features section of the Neues Wiener Journal and the Neue Freie Presse . During the First World War he was a war correspondent in Albania . In 1917 he became editor of the French-language magazine Revue d'Autriche , which was founded by Hugo von Hofmannsthal. For the Neue Freie Presse he reported on the negotiations on the Paris suburb agreements . From 1918 until his death in 1929, Digiter worked as a press attaché at the Austrian Embassy in Paris . In the course of this he also took part in international congresses such as the assemblies of the League of Nations .
Paul Zahler was married and had one daughter. He died of kidney cancer at the age of 49 and was buried in the Hietzinger Friedhof in Vienna.
