Paul d'Amour (born May 12, 1967 in Spokane , Washington ) is an American musician. Among other things, he was the bass player for the progressive metal band Tool .

Life

Like Tool guitarist Adam Jones , d'Amour moved to Los Angeles to get into the movie business. After he met Jones, he was introduced by the band Tool and joined them a short time later.

In 1995, however, he separated from the band due to artistic differences. Then d'Amour founded the psychedelic pop band Lusk with Brad Laner, Chris Pitman and Greg Edwards (formerly Failure , now Autolux ). In 1997 they released their only album Free Mars .

During his time at Tool, d'Amour played guitar in the side project Replicants , a cover band in which, in addition to d'Amour, Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards from Failure and Chris Pitman played. They released a self-titled album in 1995 in which Maynard James Keenan took part in a song as a singer.

In early 2006, d'Amour began performing under the name Feersum Enjin , borrowed from the science fiction novel Feersum Endjinn by Iain M. Banks. So far, a self-titled EP has been released.
