10,000 Days is the fourth album by the rock band Tool , which was released in late April / early May 2006. It was recorded in O'Henry ( Burbank , California), Grandmaster and The Loft ( Hollywood , California) between 2004 and 2006. The record reached the top 10 of the album charts worldwide, and even number 1 in the USA, Australia and Austria.

The title 10,000 Days refers to Keenan's mother Judith Marie, who died of complications from a brain aneurysm in 2003 after 27 years of illness, which corresponds to approximately 10,000 days .

Cover

A head with three faces is depicted on the cover of the album. It is a 3D glasses included, which is incorporated into the cover. You need this in order to be able to view individual pictures in the booklet in their 3D form, including the pictures of all band members. Alex Gray , who was also responsible for the design of the predecessor Lateralus , was responsible for the cover artwork . The 3D images were created by Ray Zone and the CGI elements by Alex Gray with the help of Bayard Baudoin and Meats Meier. The cover contains an adaptation of Net of Being , also by Alex Gray. In the animated video by Vicarious , this image appears in 3D as infinite space.

On May 5th, 2006 a notice was given on the band's homepage that the four individual photographs (of the band members) are a kind of puzzle.

The album was due to the cover at the Grammy Awards in 2007 with the Best Recording Package award (Best Recording Package).
