Paul von Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn (* around 1460 ; † between June 4 and 10, 1513 in Augsburg , buried in Bozen ). He was court marshal of Emperor Maximilians I and was one of his confidants.

He came from a Trento ministerial family, the Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn . His father Balthasar († 1478) was in the service of the Bishop of Trento and Archduke Sigismund of Tyrol . His mother was Dorothea Fuchs von Fuchsberg . Paul was married to Barbara von Schrofenstein († 1513) and had a son.

In 1482 he entered the service of Archduke Sigismund and in 1489 became court marshal . In this position he was taken over by Maximilian I , whose special trust he won and who soon entrusted him with the management of his finances. He knew how to prevent the hereditary lands from becoming too indebted. In 1494 he is attested as the caretaker of the court offices of Thaur near Innsbruck and Sarnthein near Bozen. In 1499 he was enfeoffed with Castelcorno in Isera near Rovereto , from which the addition of the name Kastelkorn is derived. In 1502 he acquired the Schenna castle and estate near Meran and expanded it into a family seat, and in 1505 he received the Hauptmannschaft Rattenberg am Inn as pledge. In the same year he received the Order of the Golden Fleece and was knighted by the Emperor in 1506. Although the imperial spending policy caused serious resentment, he was responsible for the finances until the end.

He died in Augsburg in 1513 , where he had traveled to negotiate with the Fuggers .
