Pawel Andrejewitsch Poluektow ( Russian Павел Андреевич Полуэктов ; born January 20, 1992 in Serow ) is a Kazakh - Russian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been playing for Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk from the Vysschaja Hockey League since 2016 .

Career

Pavel Poluektow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Metallurg Serow , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Vysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, in the 2008/09 season . The 2009/10 season began the goalkeeper at Gornjak Rudny from the Kazakh championship , but did not come to any use for the team before he joined the league rivals HK Beibarys Atyrau for the following year and a half . With the HK Beibarys he won the Kazakh championship as the third goalkeeper in the 2010/11 season .

For the 2011/12 season Poluektow was obliged by Barys Astana , with whose junior team Snezhnye Barsy Astana from the multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga he was a regular goalkeeper right away. At the same time, he played two games for the second team of Barys Astana in the Kazakh championship. In the 2012/13 season he also made his debut for Barys Astana in the Continental Hockey League . At the same time, he continued to stand between the posts for the club's second team in the Kazakh championship and the junior team in the MHL.

From November 2013 Poluektow was used in parallel with the farm team of Barys from the Kazakh ice hockey league , Nomad Astana . During the 2016/17 season he also received a license to play for Barys' partner team in the Vysschaja Hockey League , Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . In the summer of 2017 it was handed over to Torpedo, in return Barys received the KHL rights to Sergei Kudryazew.

International

For Kazakhstan, Poluektow took part in the junior division of the U20 World Junior Championship in Division I 2012 , where he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament and the best player on his team. With the country's men's selection , he played at the 2014 Top Division World Championships and the Division I World Championships in 2013 and 2015 , when he was elected to the tournament's All-Star Team and had the second-best catch quota of the Polish Przemysław Odrobny Tournament. In addition, he was in the Olympic qualification for the 2014 Games in Sochi in the Kazak squad, but was not used.
