Przemysław Odrobny (born October 21, 1985 in Gdansk ) is a Polish ice hockey goalkeeper who has played for Podhale Nowy Targ in the Ekstraliga since November 2017 .

Career

Przemysław Odrobny began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Stoczniowiec Gdańsk . For the team from his hometown, he was subsequently in goal in the Ekstraliga in over 200 games and was nominated for the Polish All-Star Game in 2011. After the club withdrew from the top Polish league for financial reasons in 2011, Odrobny moved from the Baltic coast to the Sub-Carpathian region to KH Sanok . In his first season he won the double of championship and cup victory with his new team. Despite these successes, he left Sanok in 2013 and moved to the first division KTH Krynica . However, he dissolved the contract there at the beginning of December 2013 because Krynica had not met his financial obligations and moved to JKH GKS Jastrzębie . In the 2014/15 season he was the goalkeeper of the Ekstraliga with the lowest number of goals conceded per game. In 2015 he moved to the French Ligue Magnus and joined HC Morzine-Avoriaz . After only one year he left the French again and has since played for Milton Keynes Lightning . With the team he first played in the English Premier Ice Hockey League , in which he made a significant contribution to winning the playoffs and the cup competition with the best catch quota. In 2017, the team from the planned city in central England was accepted into the Elite Ice Hockey League , the highest British division. There he could not keep his regular place and in November 2017 he moved to the Polish record champions Podhale Nowy Targ .

International

For Poland , Odrobny was on the ice at Division I World Championships in 2008 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . In 2012, 2014 and 2015 he was the goalkeeper with the best catch rate and the lowest number of goals conceded per game and was appointed to the all-star team of the tournament in 2012 and voted best goalkeeper in 2014 and 2015. In 2017 he achieved the third-best catch quota of the tournament behind the Austrian Bernhard Starkbaum and the Ukrainian Eduard Sachartschenko and was voted the best player of his team.

Also at the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , 2014 in Sochi , where the Poles failed in the first qualifying round, and in 2018 in Pyeongchang , when the Poles entered the second qualifying round with a 1-0 win after a penalty shootout against hosts Hungary reached, he played for his colors.
