Systematics and distribution
The first description of Pedicularis oederi was made in 1806 by Martin Vahl in Jens Wilken Hornemann : Forsøg til en Dansk Oeconomisk Plantelaere , 2nd edition, pages 580-581. The Artepipheton oederi honors the botanist and doctor Georg Christian Oeder .
From Pedicularis oederi there are two subspecies:
- Pedicularis oederi Vahl ex Hornem. subsp. oederi : It is widespread in Europe , North America , Bhutan , Japan , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Tajikistan , Russia , Mongolia , Tibet and China .
- Pedicularis oederi subsp. multipinna (HLLi) PCTsoong : It thrives on grassy slopes at altitudes of around 4200 meters only in western Sichuan .
