Giuseppe "Peppe" Servillo (born October 15, 1960 in Arquata Scrivia , Province of Alessandria ) is an Italian singer , songwriter and actor .

Career

Like his older brother Toni , Servillo grew up in Caserta . His approach to music was mainly self-taught . In 1980 he founded the group Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel , whose singer he was from then on. The first publication took place in 1987 with the EP Sorpassando . After a number of other albums, the group won the Sanremo Festival in 2000 . Servillo was also active as an actor and songwriter for other interpreters. In 2005 he headed the Uomini in Frac project , a jazz tribute to Domenico Modugno , in which Danilo Rea , Furio Di Castri , Rita Marcotulli , Fabrizio Bosso , Javier Girotto , Gianluca Petrella , Mauro Negri , Cristiano Calcagnile, Roberto Gatto and Marco Tamburini participated were.

Together with the Solis String Quartet , Servillo recorded the album Spassiunatamente in 2012, which focused on Neapolitan songs . 2018 he returned to the side of Enzo Avitabile to -Sanremo Festival back; with Il coraggio di ogni giorno , the duo reached twelfth place.
