Per Schwenzen (born February 3, 1899 in Moss , Norway , † November 4, 1984 in Pullach ) was a Norwegian cabaret artist and screenwriter .

Life

Schwenzen came to Berlin after the First World War. There he became known in the 1920s as an emcee , cabaret artist and cabaret writer. The places where he worked included the Café Megalomania , the Cabaret of the Comedians and the Wilde Bühne .

During the time of National Socialism he wrote - often in a team with other authors - film scripts for crime novels and comedies (like 13 chairs with Heinz Rühmann and Hans Moser ). He has also written plays and translated works by Norwegian authors.

After the war he was able to continue his work as a screenwriter without any problems. One of his greatest successes was in 1955. I often think of Piroschka with Liselotte Pulver in the lead role. Several of his scripts were specially tailored to Hans Albers . Some film stories were also reworked into novels, for which Schwenzen was responsible as a co-author.

In addition, Per Schwenzen worked as a musical librettist and (especially in the 1970s) as a radio play writer.
