Mikael Pernfors (born July 16, 1963 in Malmö ) is a former Swedish tennis player .
Career
He reached his only final at a Grand Slam tournament in 1986 when he eliminated Boris Becker in the quarterfinals and Henri Leconte in the semifinals of the French Open . In the final he was defeated by the then number 1, Ivan Lendl .
With the Swedish team he was in the 1986 Davis Cup final, which Australia won 3-2.
After many injuries he started his comeback in 1993, in the same year he won the final of the Canada Masters .
In 1996 Mikael Pernfors ended his tennis career in which he won three singles and one double title. He achieved his best placement in the world rankings in 1986 with position 10.
He has been playing on the ATP Champions Tour since 2009 .
