Perschkau is the name of an extinct Prussian noble family .

history

The origin of the Perschkau was withheld from research for a long time. Mülverstedt had to leave the question of origin unanswered, Gallandi and Zernicki-Szeliga had already relocated it to Pomerania . Today it is generally assumed that the family comes from Parschkau near Putzig . With Merten von Parzkow , the family appeared there for the first time in 1452 near Danzig . The family came to Prussia with the order before that , because with Moritz I vassal of the Königsberg area , the Perschkau were documented there eight years earlier.

On March 19, 1486, Hans I. († before 1516), with whom the secured line of tribe begins, was assigned the twelve- hoofed Senteinen estate near Tilsit by the Commander of Ragnit Christoph von Aufseß . In 1517, his son Moritz II († before 1562) exchanged the remaining goods in the Königsberg Chamber of Commerce Taplacken , u. a. Knäblacken , for goods in Tilsitic. It was here that the family had its focus of development, in the middle of the 16th century it was even the only noble family in the area of the later main office of Tilsit.

Moritz II of Perschkau was appointed the first burgrave of the ducal office of Tilsit on March 29, 1529. He was a very influential and economically successful person of his time and region, made a significant contribution to the reclamation and colonization in Tilsitic through his actions , but on the other hand was already in distress during his lifetime because of taking advantage. Among his sons, only Hans II († before 1572) was still in the duke's favor. With the last-named son Ludwig von Perschkau († 1620), heir to Senteinen, the male line of the family found its way out.
