Peter Dokl (born January 11, 1985 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian biathlete .

Peter Dokl is a student and lives in Ihan . He has been a biathlete since 1996 and has been a member of the Slovenian national team since 2000. His hometown club is SK Ihan . Dokl competed in five Junior World Championships between 2002 and 2006. Already at his first world championships in Ridanna , he just barely missed a medal as fourth in the relay. 2003 followed with eighth place in the individual and sixth place in the sprint in Kościelisko, the first top ten results in individual races. Dokl's most successful World Cup followed in 2004 in Haute-Maurienne . He not only won the bronze medal with the relay, which also included Klemen Bauer , but also silver in the individual behind the Russian Pavel Borisow . 2005 was in Kontiolahti ninth in the individual best result, 2006 in Presque Isle fifth in the relay. Between 2003 and 2006, the Slovenian also competed at the European Junior Championships. In 2004 he won the relay bronze in Minsk , and in 2005 he won the relay silver in Novosibirsk . Until the end of the 2005/06 season he competed in the Junior European Cup, his best result in 2004 was third place in a sprint race in Obertilliach .

For the 2006/07 season, Dokl moved up to the senior level. At his first European Cup race in Obertilliach, he came in 80th place in a sprint. In the following two races he was able to improve to 38th place and was used in Oberhof for the first time in a relay race in the World Cup , in which he came in seventh place with the Slovenian team. A few weeks later he was able to win first points in the European Cup in Nové Město na Moravě as 23rd in the sprint. The 15th place in the following pursuit was Dokl's best European Cup result so far. At the end of the season, the Holmenkollen in Oslo debuted in a single race in the World Cup. Dokl was 76th in the individual. The best result at the European Championships in Bansko was 15th place in the pursuit. From the 2007/08 season , the athlete was part of his country's regular World Cup squad. His best result so far was 34th place in Kontiolahti in an individual, with the mixed relay he was sixth in Pyeongchang . In 2008 Dokl ran its first biathlon world championships in Östersund . In the individual he was 51st, in the sprint 78th and with the relay 19. In the mixed relay he was after his and the performances of Dijana Grudiček-Ravnikar and Teja Gregorin on medal course, after the last shooting with four penalty loops by Klemen Bauer But the team only came in ninth place. At the 2009 World Championships in Pyeongchang, Dokl was 83rd in the sprint, 15th in the relay and, as 41st of the individual, missed his first World Cup point win by just one place. Peter Dokl took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. His best result was 58th place in the sprint. With the relay he finished 17th.
