He has made over 1,000 live performances worldwide. The two single releases "A Girl Like You" and "Wake Up Miss America" from the debut album of his band Seafoam Green were on the radio in 2004. With this band he recorded a one-hour WDR Rockpalast concert in September 2007 , which was broadcast on October 29, 2007.

In the 2008/09 season he was a member of the Magical Mystery Band of the cult theater play Marigold at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . With other titles such as "Rock Guitar Secrets", "Rock Guitar Basics" or "Survival Guitar", Peter Fischer set instrumental pedagogical standards and influenced how the electric guitar instrument is taught in German-speaking Europe. In addition to the German versions of these books, some titles are also published in English, Chinese, Japanese and Italian.

Influences and style

In his "Spotlight" feature from 1989, Peter Fischer lists guitarists Ace Frehley , Edward Van Halen , Steve Vai , Steve Lynch and Allan Holdsworth as his main influences, which reflects his playing at the time. Mike Varney: "On his inventive, refreshing new demo, he employs zany Vai-ish whammy stranglings, multi-fingered two-handed innovations reminiscent of Jeff Watson, and long, fluid legato lines over interesting tonalities, a la Allan Holdsworth."

He demonstrates a greater stylistic range on the sound carriers of his book publications or in YouTube videos. There legato passages clearly influenced by Holdsworth alternate with bluesy-jazzy playing à la Robben Ford , Michael Landau or Scott Henderson . While numerous two-hand tapping passages can still be heard on older recordings, he has neglected this playing technique in recent years in favor of a country-influenced hybrid picking technique in which he strikes with pick and the fingers of his right hand.

Equipment

The guitar equipment used by Peter Fischer has changed constantly during the various phases of his career. He mostly plays Fender-style guitars, rarely Gibson-style guitars. His main instrument should be a 1960s Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst. You can also see him with a Fender Telecaster or his Framus “Peter Fischer Signature” guitar.

For amplifiers he uses models from Framus, Fender or Fuchs as well as effect devices from different manufacturers. He has been working closely with the Kemper Amps company from Recklinghausen since 2011 and uses the Kemper Profiling Amp regularly. Many of his own amplifiers were incorporated into the Kemper Amp as Profiles.

Endorsements

In the 1990s, Peter Fischer had endorsements with Peavey , Charvel and Music Man . In 2008 the Framus "Peter Fischer Signature" was presented at the Frankfurt Music Fair, which is based on a Framus Custom Shop guitar made for him. It is the first signature model for a German guitarist at this company and is advertised in the international music press and receives consistently good reviews. He is also supported by Roland, Lexicon and Native Instruments .
