Peter Runggaldier (born December 29, 1968 in Brixen ) is a former Italian ski racer from South Tyrol . In the 1990s he was one of the best ski racers in the downhill and super-G disciplines .
biography
Runggaldier won two World Cup races in Super-G and achieved over ten podium places, including on the downhill runs in Kitzbühel ( Streif ), St. Anton , Wengen ( Lauberhorn ) and Garmisch-Partenkirchen ( Kandahar ). His greatest successes were a silver medal in the downhill at the 1991 Ski World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (behind Franz Heinzer ) and first place in the Super G World Cup of the 1994/95 season. In 1991 and 1997 he was Italian champion in Super-G.
In March 2000, Runggaldier resigned from professional sports. He lives in Selva in Val Gardena .
