Peterchens Mondfahrt is a German cartoon by Wolfgang Urchs from 1990. It is based on the fairy tale Peterchens Mondfahrt by Gerdt von Bassewitz . The film was made into a five-part television series in 1992 with additional scenes.

action

The children Peter and Anneliese are visited by a violin-playing cockchafer named Mr. Sumsemann . He explains to them that the moon man stole one of his legs and it has been on the moon ever since. The children decide to accompany him on his journey there. After an adventurous journey through the Milky Way , they finally defeat the moon man and are able to give back his missing leg to Mr. Sumsemann. They fly back to earth together and end up in their nursery just before their mother comes in to wake them up.

The dialogue book was written by Arne Elsholtz, who also did the dubbing. He also spoke two roles in the film himself.

The film music was composed by Klaus Doldinger based on the stage music by Clemens Schmalstich , which was also used in the earlier film adaptation of Peterchens Mondfahrt from 1959.
