Petra Ivánková (born June 20, 1993 ) is a Czech grass skier . She has competed in the World Cup since 2009 and became Junior World Champion in combination in 2011 .

Career

After some successes in youth competitions of the Czech Cup, Petra Ivánková started in FIS races for the first time in May 2008 and reached fifth place on her debut in the Altenseelbach slalom . In another two FIS races, which she completed in June, however, she did not finish. Ivánková's first World Cup race was the super combination from Wilhelmsburg on June 6th, 2009, in which she finished 14th and last place, but with that she won her first World Cup points. On September 13th, she finished eleventh in the Super Combined by Forni di Sopra again in the points and thus reached 14th place overall in the 2009 season . In July and August 2009, the Czech took part in the Junior World Championship in Horní Lhota u Ostravy and achieved fifth place in the Super-G and in the Super Combined. In slalom and giant slalom she was disqualified after peat errors. A month later she started at the World Championships in Rettenbach . Here she was tenth in the super combined and 13th in the super G. In the slalom and giant slalom, as in the Junior World Championships, she was not included in the ranking.

After her first podium places in FIS races at the end of May 2010, Ivánková achieved her best ever World Cup result at the start of the 2010 World Cup season with fourth place in the giant slalom in Čenkovice . Another fourth place followed at the end of the summer in the Sestriere slalom . With a further four top 10 results, she was the second best Czech woman and came eighth in the overall World Cup. At the 2010 Junior World Championships in Dizin she was fourth in slalom, fifth in giant slalom and fifth in super-G (at the same time as Austrian Daniela Krückel ) and eighth in super combined. In the 2011 World Cup season , Ivánková narrowly missed the podium several times, as in the previous year. She finished fourth in three races and finished fifth in the overall World Cup. At the 2011 World Championships in Goldingen , she was fifth in the super combined, sixth in the giant slalom and eighth in the super G. Only in the slalom she was eliminated in the first round. She was more successful in the Junior World Championship , which was held at the same time , in which she was third in the slalom and third in the Super-G and thus won the combination formed from these two races. In the giant slalom she was in the lead after the first run, but was eliminated in the second run.

After finishing fourth in world cup races six times, Ivánková achieved her first podium finals at the 2012 World Cup finals in Rettenbach when she was third in the slalom and third in the super combined. In the overall World Cup, however, it fell behind compared to the previous year and, as in 2010, was eighth. At the Junior World Championships 2012 in Burbach Ivánková won two bronze medals in the Super-G and in the Super Combined. She finished the giant slalom in fifth place, but had not started in the slalom.
