Philip Cassidy (born October 15, 1961 ) is a retired Irish cyclist .

Philip Cassidy was active as a cyclist from 1982 to 2005 and won two Irish championships twelve years apart.

Cassidy won his first big race in 1982 when he won the Shay Elliott Memorial . 1983 and 1999 he won the Irish stage race Rás Tailteann .

Twice - in 1984 and 1988 - Philip Cassidy took part in the Olympic Games and started in the team time trial .

Cassidy and former racing driver Brian Connaughton run a company that makes clothing for racing cyclists. He is also involved in leading teams in Irish cycling. His son is the cyclist Mark Cassidy , with whom he has already competed in races.
