Philipp Kneib

Philipp Kneib (born February 19, 1870 in Zornheim , † July 21, 1915 in Würzburg ) was a German Catholic theologian .

Life

Bishop Paul Leopold Haffner ordained him as a priest in Mainz in 1895 . After chaplain positions in Gernsheim , St. Quintin (Mainz) , St. Alban (Bodenheim) and at the Mainz Cathedral , he was a benefit administrator in Seligenstadt . In 1899 he became a teacher at the Progymnasium Seligenstadt and in 1900 lecturer at the seminary in Mainz , first for church history , then for moral theology . In 1903 he became a professor and in 1906 he succeeded his teacher Herman Schell as professor of moral theology at the University of Würzburg .
