Piré-sur-Seiche ( Breton : Pereg ; Gallo : Pirae ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Piré-Chancé with 2,590 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . The inhabitants are called Piréens .

The municipality of Piré-sur-Seiche merged with Chancé on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Piré-Chancé. It belonged to the arrondissement of Rennes and was part of the canton of Châteaugiron (until 2015: canton of Janzé ).

Piré-sur-Seiche is located about 21 kilometers east-southeast of Rennes on the Quincampoix River , which flows into the Seiche in the southwest of the Commune déléguée . The municipality of Piré-sur-Seiche was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Aubin-du-Pavail in the north and northwest, Domagné in the north and northeast, Chancé in the northeast, Moulins in the east, Boistrudan in the south and southeast, Essé in the south, Janzé in the Southwest and Amanlis in the west.
