Pirapó is a district in the Itapúa department of Paraguay and was founded on December 11, 1990 .
The Pirapó district extends over an area of 860 km² and has about 9,200 inhabitants. It is surrounded by the neighboring districts of Alto Verá , Itapúa Poty , Obligado , Bella Vista and Capitán Meza . In the south it borders on the Río Paraná and thus on Argentina .
Mainly immigrants from Japan settled in Pirapó , who arrived there from 1960 and are mainly engaged in agriculture.
