The varied tit ( Sittiparus varius , Syn. : Parus varius , Poecile varius , Cyanistes varius ), also known as perching called, is a songbird from the family of the great tits . It is distributed in nine subspecies in East Asia.

description

Depending on the subspecies, it reaches a size between 11 and 14 cm. The wing length is 6.0 to 7.8 centimeters. With the nominate form S. v. varius , the hood , beak, throat, upper chest and neck are black. Forehead, face, cheeks are colored white. The back, wings and tail are blue-gray. The coat, underbust, abdomen and tail-covers are reddish brown. A white central line runs from the top of the head to the neck. In other subspecies the color on the back and cheeks is darker, in S. v. owstoni the cheeks are reddish brown and in S. v. olivaceus , the coat has an olive tone. The feet are dark turquoise. Her singing consists of a delicate "tzu ... .tzu ... .tzu ..."

Their habitat are open mixed forests , especially with the species Castanopsis cuspidata and larches , coniferous forests with Japanese yew trees , Japanese cedars and pines, and bamboo forests on mountain slopes or in river valleys.
