Poetics professorship at the University of Bamberg

The professorship in poetry at the University of Bamberg was established in 1985 on the initiative of the Chair of Modern German Literature at the University of Bamberg from the University Association of Bamberg under the project management of Wulf Segebrecht . Since then, well-known authors have come to the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg every year to give four public lectures as part of the Bamberg Poetics Professorship and to discuss them with students in seminars. The fee is 6,000 euros. In connection with the poetics professorship , German research colloquia have been held since 2005. In it, literary scholars , literary critics and translators deal with aspects of the work of the respective poetics professor in individual lectures and discussions. In doing so, they cooperate closely with the international artist house Villa Concordia in Bamberg. The conference contributions were published up to and including 2016 in the Poiesis series . Viewpoints on contemporary literature in Wallstein-Verlag , Göttingen, then in the Literature & Present series by Verlag Königshausen & Neumann , Würzburg.
