Politically, the village belonged to the Duchy of Teschen , the feudal lordship of the Kingdom of Bohemia , and from 1526 it belonged to the Habsburg Monarchy .

After the abolition of patrimonial it was from 1850 a municipality in Austrian Silesia , Teschen district and Teschen judicial district. In the years 1880–1910 the population rose from 546 in 1880 to 781 in 1910, the majority were Polish-speaking (between 96.7% and 98.6%), and 17 (3.1%) German-speaking in 1880.
