Poschenhof region
Poschenhof refers not only to Einödhof east of Hofkirchen, but also to the valley of the Ellenbach, which runs eastwards from Hofkirchen, with its entire catchment area. This also includes the southern slopes of the Weinleite, the Krenleite and Faulmoos as well as the northern slopes of the Kirchleite to the former Berghaus. These areas, which used to be used exclusively for agriculture, have changed significantly since the 1980s, especially in the valley line. Today there is the Hofkirchen sports area, a precast concrete plant , a large open space photovoltaic system , a biogas plant and a pig farm . Extensive spruce and mixed forests begin to the east of the farm, most of which are owned by the Bavarian State Forests . Around 2000 hectares of the Ellenbacholz and Wurzachholz departments are still referred to as forests at Poschenhof.
