description

Vegetative characteristics

Potentilla sundaica is a prostrate, annual, herbaceous plant . The rhizome is thin and narrow. The stem is downy hairy and lying at its base.

The basal leaves are divided into a petiole and a leaf blade. Your finely hairy petiole is 5 to 25 inches long and narrow. The leaf blade is five-fingered. The leaflets are 1.5 to 3 centimeters long, obovate-wedge-shaped and with a bluntly serrate to serrated edge (15 to 25 sections). The underside of the leaf is usually hairy when pressed against the veins, while the upper side is sparsely hairy or hairless. The basal stipules are membranous and have lanceolate auricles . Higher stipules are ovate and deciduous.

Generative characteristics

Many flowers are arranged in terminal zymose inflorescence . The relatively small, hermaphrodite flowers are radially symmetrical with a diameter of 6 to 8 millimeters . The sepals are hairy sparsely pressed. The outer sepals are oblong-egg-shaped, blunt and entire or divided. The inner ones, on the other hand, are somewhat longer, egg-shaped and pointed. The free, yellow petals are relatively small with a size of 3 to 3.5 millimeters. There are about 20 stamens . The numerous carpels are connected to the almost bare and swollen flower base . The almost terminal stylus are conical and 0.7 to 0.8 millimeters long.

The achenes are small and toothed.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 28.
