Poynette is located in southern central Wisconsin, about 10 km east of Lake Wisconsin , a reservoir of the Wisconsin River . This flows in Prairie du Chien in the border with Minnesota forming Mississippi (180 km west). The geographic coordinates of Poynette are 43 ° 23'25 "north latitude and 89 ° 24'10" west longitude.
