Prize of the city of Münster for international poetry

The City of Münster Prize for International (formerly European ) Poetry was donated by the City of Münster on the occasion of the city's 1200th anniversary in 1993. It is intended to award an "internationally received volume of poetry and its independent translation ", whereby either the volume of poetry or its translation must be in German. The literary prize is endowed with a total of 15,500 euros (as of 2019), which the poet and the translator (s) receive in equal parts. The winners are determined by an independent jury consisting of Urs Allemann , Michael Braun , Cornelia Jentzsch , Johann P. Tammen and Norbert Wehr .

The prize is awarded at the International Poetry Meeting in Münster , which takes place every two years in May.
