Johann P. Tammen

Johann P. Tammen (born February 1, 1944 in Hohenkirchen / Friesland ) is a German writer .

Life

Johann P. Tammen studied German , history and social sciences at the Oldenburg University of Education . From 1967 to 1969 he worked in the editorial department of " Stern ", and from 1969 to 1976 he worked for publishing houses in Wilhelmshaven and Bremerhaven . Since 1976 he has lived as a freelance writer in Bremerhaven. After having been part of the editorial team of the literary magazine " Die Horen " since 1970 , he was editor of the magazine from 1994 to 2011 . Since 1980 he has published the book series "Edition Die Horen".

Johann P. Tammen is the author of prose texts , reviews , essays , poems and radio plays . In addition , as part of the "Poetry of Neighbors" project, he and the respective authors translate poems from various European languages ​​into German .

Johann P. Tammen has been a member of the PEN Center Germany since 1986 . He received u. a. The following awards: 1980 and 1988 the Alfred Kerr Prize , 1996 the Lower Saxony Art Prize for Literature , 1998 the Karl Heinz Zillmer Prize from the Hamburg Cultural Foundation and in 2006 the Eugen Viehof Prize from the German Schiller Foundation .
