Heiko Postma (born July 26, 1946 in Wesermünde , today Bremerhaven ), recognizable by his surname as Friese , is a German publicist , writer and translator .

Life

Postma grew up in Bremerhaven and studied German , philosophy and science of politics at the University of Hanover . In 1975 he did his doctorate with Hans Mayer on Arno Schmidt . Postma worked for a long time in the Lower Saxony school service (especially at the Käthe-Kollwitz-Schule (Hanover) ), as well as journalistic activities (newspaper, radio). From 1985 to 2011 he was editor of the literary magazine die horen. Journal for literature, art and criticism . Postma was an employee of the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung and other newspapers, magazines and radio stations for even longer . For several years he was presenter on Roland H. Wiegenstein's side of the radio series "The Literary Riddle" on North German Broadcasting (NDR) , East German Broadcasting Brandenburg (ORB) and West German Broadcasting . Postma published essays on European literature , glosses , book and theater reviews, articles on collections of articles, newspaper columns (Galerie der Detektiven, Universum der Fantast ), and work biographies on Jules Verne , Heinrich Albert Oppermann and Robert Burns . In addition, translations (including Robert Burns, as well as comedies by William Shakespeare , Carlo Goldoni and Ludvig Holberg ) and series editions ( Kabinett der Fantast ).

With an extensive reading program (including on Wilhelm Busch , Jeremias Gotthelf , Robert Burns, Annette von Droste-Hülshoff and Hanover in the literature of the 17th to 20th centuries) he appears throughout Germany, but mainly in Northern Germany. A pseudonym he uses is Thomas O'Kiep ( anagram of Heiko Postma).

Postma lives as a freelance author in the Lower Saxony state capital Hanover .
