The Prignitzer Kuckuck Kickers 2000 e. V. were a football club from Sadenbeck , a district of the Brandenburg town of Pritzwalk . The club, known for its above-average number of Brazilian soccer players, was named after Kuckuck , a village that belongs to Sadenbeck.
history
The Christian- oriented Kuckuck Kickers were founded in 2000 and made three consecutive promotions in the first few seasons. In 2004, Carlos Augustos de Oliveira became the first Brazilian soccer player to join. In the next few years the club gained national fame, as most of the football players moved from the South American country to Germany in the town of Pritzwalk: 15 out of 60 players (2009) came to Prignitz . Eleven players moved there in 2008 and this top position within Germany was maintained in 2010. At that time, only five Brazilians played in all other clubs in the Brandenburg League , and an average of two per club in the Bundesliga for the 2009/10 season , with Hertha BSC having five in their squad . The team line-ups of the Kuckuck Kickers consisted largely of Brazilians, and the club was able to keep players who had the same level of performance as German players with little effort, with pocket money being paid to the players. The environment was designed in such a way that the football players did not have to worry about accommodation and could also have a sauna , fitness studio , telephone , television or internet . The contributions to the health insurance as well as a flight home to Brazil over Christmas were paid.
The team had to struggle with hostility from opposing fans and players during encounters, the club was described as "lacking in tradition". As early as 2009, there were considerations not to play any more games. On January 24, 2011, the game was finally stopped because the club had doubts that they could maintain the level of the sixth division. Some players were taken over by neighboring clubs, u. a. from MSV Neuruppin .
sports ground
The Kuckuck sports field (also called Auf Kuckuck sports field ) offers space for 2,000 spectators and is located at Kuckuckstr. 6 in the Pritzwalker district of Sadenbeck. The club was also based there.
