Priit Viks (born January 7, 1982 in Elva , Estonian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Estonian biathlete .

Priit Viks has been involved in biathlon since 1994. He starts for the Elva Ski Club and is trained by Rein Pedaja. The sports soldier has been a member of the Estonian national squad since 2002. He has competed internationally in youth and junior competitions since 2000. His first junior world championships in Hochfilzen in 2000 had no results worth mentioning. Two years later in Ridnaun he reached 15th place in the individual. At the Junior European Championships in the same year he was in Kontiolahti in the same form of competition 19. His last Junior World Championships ran Viks 2003 in Kościelisko . There he reached his best placement in eleventh in the individual.

In Östersund Viks made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup at the 2002/03 season finale and finished 60th in the individual. At the Biathlon World Championships in 2003 in Khanty-Mansiysk , the Estonian started at a World Cup for the first time. In the individual, his specialty, he reached 57th place. He also achieved comparatively good results as 34th in the sprint and 37th in the pursuit at the 2004 European Biathlon Championships in Minsk . In the summer of the year he competed several times in summer biathlon . At the Grand Prix in Khanty-Mansiysk, Viks was about 16th in the sprint, at the 2004 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Osrblie he reached the 24th place in the sprint, 20th place in the pursuit and was seventh in the relay. The 2005 Summer World Championships in Muonio went even better , where he was ninth in the sprint and twelfth in the pursuit and just missed a medal with fourth in the relay. The next highlight was Vik's participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin . The Estonian was used in the singles (74th) and in the relay (15th). In 2007 he started his second World Championships in Antholz and finished 69th in the individual, 65th in the sprint and eleventh with the relay. Good results achieved Viks again as 16th in the sprint and 15th in the pursuit at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Otepää . In 2008 he achieved 56th place in the Oberhof sprint , which should be his best in the World Cup for almost a year. Shortly afterwards he started for the third time at a World Cup . In Östersund the Estonian was 93rd in the individual, 71st in the sprint and 12th in the relay. In 2009 he managed to collect World Cup points in Ruhpolding as 38th of the sprint.

Priit Viks participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics . Rank 20 in the Vancouver singles was also his best international position to date.

Priit Viks lives with the Estonian biathlete Eveli Saue in Elva .
